He is big enough to handle your fears. I’d go so far as to say that He longs to. His desire if for relationship and that isn’t built by pretending and putting on a brave face. It’s built with the courage to admit your humanity and allow him to make something better of it.

Breaking
So, if you have read my last post, you’ll be happy to know that my husband and I had a great date to celebrate our anniversary. We went birthday shopping for our daughter, grabbed some coffee, went to an escape room, and had a delicious dinner out. It was so fun to get out andContinue reading “Breaking”
Unexpected: A Love Story
In just a few days February will be upon us and, with it, a slew of anniversaries in my home. February has always been a big month for us. It’s the month that Ted left the Marine Corps in 2013. This wasn’t a decision that I had a part in, but it set the stageContinue reading “Unexpected: A Love Story”
Advent with the Jesus Storybook Bible
There is frost on the trees at my house and the glittering crystals are getting me excited for the most wonderful time of the year…Christmas. I love Christmas. The lights, the smells, the snow, the look of wonder on my children’s faces, the giving of gifts and, most of all, the pause to celebrate JesusContinue reading “Advent with the Jesus Storybook Bible”
You do…Christ
You see, I was never meant to just “do me”. I was meant to put on Christ.
Mud Pie Magic
I have been busy lately; busy trying to get this blog off the ground, busy doing yard work with my husband as we fight against the short Alaskan growing season, busy with housework that always stacks up, and with trying to keep up with family and friends as 2020 keeps throwing tidal waves at us.Continue reading “Mud Pie Magic”
A Few Thoughts on Grumbling and Authenticity
We have had a rough last several weeks. Very rough, pulling my hair out, not sure anything I say or do is getting through, send me all the coffee rough. Potentially made worse by the fact that my daughter is very sensitive to caffeine in breast milk and I can only drink the fake decafContinue reading “A Few Thoughts on Grumbling and Authenticity”
Making Room For Christ: One pure and Holy Passion
I do my quiet times in the morning. I have bounced around a little and found different rhythms as time has marched on. In my first year of motherhood, I was so completely sleep deprived that I could only handle short snippets of scripture that I would mediate on all day long. My official “quietContinue reading “Making Room For Christ: One pure and Holy Passion”
Alignment and Holy Procrastination
Over the last couple years, I have gone through what I like to think of as a break-up with workout culture. I’m still actively pursuing my health and fitness but have been reframing my thought processes around it. I’ve seen so many young mothers struggling to breastfeed as they seek to “gain their bodies back”Continue reading “Alignment and Holy Procrastination”
Humility: Preparation for the Journey
I’ve decided my official position on 2020 is “confused”. I’m confused about media coverage, confused about how to love people well from a distance, confused about mandates and regulations, laws and systems. I’m confused about the global stuff we are all facing. Then I’m dealing with sickness right now, two serious illnesses in two menContinue reading “Humility: Preparation for the Journey”
